Warehouse and retail glossary
Terms you will come across when working with terminals, 1C and the National Catalogue of Goods.
- Data collection terminal (TSD)
- A mobile device with a built-in barcode scanner for stores and warehouses. With TSD Expert, a regular Android smartphone can replace it. Smartphone or terminal
- National Catalogue of Goods (NKT)
- Kazakhstan’s state database of product cards. The catalogue code is required on receipts, e-invoices and waybills. Portals: nct.gov.kz and nationalcatalog.kz. New product & catalogue
- NTIN
- A permanent product code in the National Catalogue: 13 digits, starting with “02”.
- XTIN
- A temporary product code in the National Catalogue: starts with “004” and is valid for a limited time until the product gets a permanent NTIN.
- GTIN, EAN-13
- The international product barcode. Catalogues store it as 14 digits, so an EAN-13 is searched with a leading zero. Scanner & search
- E-invoice (ESF)
- An electronic invoice in the information system of the State Revenue Committee of Kazakhstan.
- Waybill (SNT)
- An electronic waybill that accompanies goods moving within Kazakhstan.
- Product marking (Tañba)
- Mandatory digital marking of certain goods with DataMatrix codes. Planned in TSD Expert. Compatibility
- DataMatrix
- A two-dimensional code used for marking goods. TSD Expert reads it with the camera. Scanner & search
- 1C extension
- An add-on to a 1C configuration that does not change it: the configuration stays standard and updates as usual. TSD Expert installs as an extension. Installation
- 1C database publishing
- Access to a 1C database through a web server. The TSD Expert installer publishes it on the local network only. Installation
- Bluetooth scanner in HID mode
- A scanner that connects to the phone as a keyboard and “types” the barcode. Most affordable scanners work this way.
- Stock count (stocktake)
- Counting actual stock and comparing it with the books. In 1C:Retail, this is the «Пересчёт товаров» (Goods recount) document. Stock count
- Goods receipt
- Checking incoming goods for quantity and contents. In 1C:Retail, this is the «Поступление товаров» (Goods receipt) document. Goods receipt
- ABC analysis
- Splitting products by their share of revenue: A — key, B — mid-range, C — minor. Reports
- Dead stock
- Products that have not sold for a long time and tie up money. Reports
- Gross profit, margin, markup
- Profit is revenue minus cost; margin is profit as a share of the selling price; markup is profit as a share of cost. Reports
- Send queue
- Documents created offline wait on the phone and go to 1C on their own — exactly once. Offline
